These days Sikhs worldwide mark the 26th anniversary of the day when Indian politicians organized genocide against Sikhs across India. Indians pulled down Sikhs from buses and hauled them from homes, offices and streets. Some of them were beaten to death, others were burned alive. Few escaped. Amnesty International has marked the occasion this year in its India 2010 report. But the mainstream American-British media continues to enforce a blackout on Indian crimes because Washington and London need India as a proxy in Asia.
A prominent Indian journalist and rights advocate accuses Indian media of calling Roy a ‘traitor’ and sending outdoor broadcasting vans to Roy’s residence ahead of the Hindu mob, thereby becoming an accessory to a criminal attack.
Typical of its small mindset that contradicts its claims to superpower status, India made Obama’s first day of the visit about Pakistan instead of it being about India. And it flatly lost.
If this can’t break your heart, then you’re an Indian politician or an Indian general, or one of hundreds of Indian journalists in the mainstream media who self-censor news about the genocide underway in Kashmir by their country’s armed forces, more than 700,000 of them concentrated in a small piece of land. And yet see the courage of an unarmed people who fight everyday this conspiracy of silence. Their actions shake the foundations of the Indian government in New Delhi every day.
A new study released by Project For Pakistan In 21st Century in Islamabad advises the Pakistani government and military to adopt a ‘calm and defensive’ posture in dealing with US military threats against the country. The report reveals that the United States is using two words in its approach toward Pakistan: ‘Fragmentation’ and ‘Mistrust. The cover of the study uses the expression ‘Divide Your Enemy’ to reflect Washington’s current Pakistan policy. Project Pakistan 21, as the think tank is known, is an independent policy research institute based in Islamabad.

Obama in New Delhi can say six things: Stop military action against civilians in Kashmir, withdraw soldiers from towns and villages, dismantle bunkers, watch towers and barricades, release prisoners, end shoot-at-sight orders, and restore basic rights of Kashmiris to move and assemble.
The suicide bombers and throat-slitters are not Arab Mujahedeen or Afghan Taliban. This expertise has been introduced by the Indians and the Israelis in Afghanistan and Pakistan.

See this slideshow prepared by Foreign Policy magazine. It doesn’t roundly condemn Indian atrocities, not yet at least. Why should the US government respect us when we undersell ourselves?

Arundhati Roy enjoys more credibility than India’s government or military. Her analysis on India’s occupation of Kashmir has exposed what the Indian military, politicians and media have been hiding for decades: the collective Indian crimes against Kashmiris.
India’s most famous novelist meets with the husband and brother of two Kashmiri women raped and killed by Indian Army soldiers. All major Indian newspapers warn Roy of imminent arrest on sedition charges.
Forget the Clinton-Qureshi talks. Remember the Talbott-Shamshad strategic dialogue in 1998? The declared aim was better bilateral relations but in reality the talks were a cover for US ideas on how Pakistan should maintain its nuclear weapons. The Americans have a long history of saying one thing and meaning something else. US wants Pakistan Army to launch North Waziristan war to isolate Pakistan from Afghan Taliban and future US-Taliban contacts could exclude Pakistan.
